At Super Glazing, we specialise in designing and installing conservatories Halifax, conservatory roofs Halifax, tiled conservatory roofs Halifax, glass conservatory roofs Halifax, orangeries Halifax, and extensions Halifax. Our experienced team works with homeowners throughout Halifax and West Yorkshire to create beautiful, energy-efficient spaces that blend naturally with both traditional and contemporary properties.
Halifax is not like most towns. The Calder Valley that cradles it, the Pennine moorland that rises dramatically above every roofline in HX1 and HX2, the extraordinary architectural confidence of the Piece Hall’s neoclassical courtyard in the heart of the town — all of it creates a setting where additions to homes need to be designed with real ambition and real specification quality.
The challenge — and Halifax’s Pennine position makes this more acute than in more sheltered locations — is that a conservatory specified with a glass or polycarbonate roof that was standard twenty years ago simply cannot hold a comfortable temperature through a West Yorkshire winter, and overheats on any decent West Yorkshire summer afternoon. The solution is not to avoid conservatories and orangeries. The solution is to specify them correctly from the outset — or, for the large number of Halifax homeowners with existing underperforming conservatories, to replace the roof with a system that delivers proper thermal and acoustic performance across all twelve months.
Super Glazing designs and builds conservatories, orangeries, tiled conservatory roofs, glass conservatory roofs, and single-storey extensions across all Halifax HX postcodes — HX1 through HX7 — and a wide surrounding region including Huddersfield (HD), Bradford (BD), Dewsbury, Mirfield, Liversedge and Batley (WF12–WF17), Leeds (LS27–LS28), Burnley (BB10–BB12), and Todmorden (OL14). Free design survey. Fixed written price. 10-year structural guarantee as standard.
Halifax’s homes range from traditional stone-built terraces and Victorian properties to modern family homes and suburban developments. As families grow and lifestyles change, many homeowners are looking for extra living space without the cost and upheaval of moving house.
A professionally designed conservatory offers an excellent way to extend your home while creating a bright, versatile room that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Thanks to modern glazing technology and highly insulated roofing systems, today’s conservatories provide comfortable living spaces in every season rather than being used only during warmer months.
Whether you’re looking for additional family space, a peaceful garden room, or somewhere to work from home, a conservatory can enhance both your lifestyle and the value of your property.
Choosing the right conservatory installer is just as important as selecting the design itself. At Super Glazing, we combine thoughtful design, premium-quality materials, and skilled craftsmanship to create conservatories that deliver lasting comfort, performance, and visual appeal.
Every conservatory is individually designed to suit your property’s architecture, available space, garden orientation, and the way you intend to use the room. Our tailored approach ensures your new conservatory blends naturally with your home while meeting your family’s current and future needs.
We use carefully selected materials that are designed to deliver outstanding durability, energy efficiency, and long-term performance, including:
Our experienced installation team completes every project with precision and attention to detail, ensuring your conservatory is structurally sound, weather-resistant, and finished to the highest standard.
Whether you’re planning a brand-new conservatory, replacing an ageing conservatory roof, or exploring a larger home extension, we’ll provide straightforward recommendations and practical guidance to help you choose the solution that’s right for your home and budget.

Good price, superior quality, I gave them a 2-month installation deadline, I told them there was no rush, but after a week and a half they came and installed 4 windows and one door at the entrance... the guys from the installation team were 10/10 professionalism... I highly recommend this company... they repaired the spot next to the window and door so you wouldn't even notice that work was done there.Posted on Google![]()

Very happy with the Finnished product. Windows and doors are good quality. I also had lintels put in and the brickie did a good job also filling in some cracks. The window fitters all knew what they where doing and were professional, and give me good advice otherwise I could of potentially had a wall come down, hence I had lintels fitted. Sue the salesman was brilliant 👏 very friendly and knowledgeable. No aggressive sales pitch. I had a couple of little issues at the end but these were sorted within 24hrs. Overall I'm a happy customer 😊 ☺️ 😌 Brilliant job 👏 👍 👌Posted on Google![]()

Over the moon with our new doors and windows. Such a quick turnaround as well! All the staff I dealt with were brilliant from Aaron who came to measure up and provide the quote - talking us through the process and giving us options without being remotely pushy, to Craig and the lads who came and did a stellar job of fitting everything - really polite, friendly and hard working people. I would absolutely recommend Super Glazing in future.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Super Glazing. They have just completed work on my house replacing 7 windows plus a 4 window bay, a tiled over bay and door canopy and guttering to my large conservatory. The quality of products used is superb and the workmanship is excellent. I am highly delighted with the look, finish and attention to detail. From initial quotation by Aaron through to completion by the installation team took less than 3 weeks as I needed a quick turnaround. Everything was explained to me in detail by Aaron and the surveyors and carried out by Steve, Liam and James to the highest standard. Mike from the office followed up by making sure I was completely happy with the job. Super Glazing offer a value for money, quality service with friendliness, professionalism and efficiency.Posted on Google![]()

I cannot recommend Super Glazing Windows enough. From start to finish the whole experience was professional, smooth, and extremely well organised. The staff were friendly, helpful and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the whole process stress-free. The quality of the windows and doors is outstanding and the workmanship during installation was excellent. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. I was so pleased with the results that I’ve already gone back and purchased more, and I’ve recommended them to several friends as well. If you’re looking for a reliable company that provides high-quality products with fantastic customer service, Super Glazing Windows are definitely the company to use. A tiled conservatory roof is one of the most effective ways to transform an older conservatory into a comfortable, energy-efficient living space. By replacing an ageing glass or polycarbonate roof with a modern insulated tiled roof system, you can enjoy a room that feels like a natural extension of your home throughout every season.
Halifax’s Pennine climate brings cold winters, frequent rainfall, and changing temperatures that can make older conservatories difficult to use. A professionally installed tiled conservatory roof helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature all year round while significantly reducing outside noise and improving energy efficiency.
A modern glass conservatory roof is the ideal solution for homeowners who want to maximise natural light while enjoying a more comfortable living environment throughout the year. Unlike older glass or polycarbonate roofs, today’s advanced glazing systems provide excellent insulation, improved solar control, and greater energy efficiency without sacrificing the bright, open feel that makes conservatories so popular.
For homes across Halifax and the surrounding Pennine areas, modern glass roofing helps create a conservatory that remains comfortable during changing weather conditions while allowing uninterrupted views of the sky and garden.
A well-designed conservatory is an excellent way to create additional living space while bringing more natural light into your home. At Super Glazing, we design and build bespoke conservatories throughout Halifax, carefully tailoring every project to suit your property’s style, garden layout, and the way you plan to use your new space.
Whether you own a Victorian home in Savile Park, a family property in Elland, or a modern house in Greetland, every conservatory is designed to complement your home’s architecture while providing comfortable year-round living.
An orangery combines the light-filled feel of a conservatory with the solid construction of a traditional extension. Featuring insulated masonry pillars, durable walls, and a central roof lantern, an orangery creates a stylish and comfortable room that blends naturally with both period and modern homes.
Orangeries are particularly popular for Halifax’s larger stone-built properties, offering exceptional thermal performance while maintaining a bright connection with the garden throughout the year.
A single-storey extension provides the ideal solution for homeowners looking to create a permanent addition to their property. Whether you’re extending your kitchen, creating a spacious family room, or adding a dedicated home office, every extension is designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing home.
From the initial design through to planning guidance and construction, Super Glazing manages every stage of the project, delivering practical living spaces that enhance both comfort and property value.

Yes — Huddersfield (HD postcodes), Bradford (BD postcodes), Dewsbury, Mirfield, Liversedge, and Batley (WF12–WF17), Leeds (LS27–LS28), Burnley (BB10–BB12), and Todmorden (OL14) are all within our regular working region from Halifax. If you are in a specific location between these areas and unsure about coverage, call us and we will confirm for your specific address.
A standard Lean-To or Victorian uPVC conservatory on an existing concrete base takes three to five working days to install in Halifax, once groundworks are complete. Larger builds — Edwardian, P-Shape, or T-Shape — take five to eight days. Orangeries with masonry work take one to two weeks depending on the size and complexity of the build. Tiled roof conversions on existing Halifax conservatory structures typically take one to two days for the installation itself. We confirm the specific programme for your Halifax project in the written quote and we maintain it.
Hebden Bridge town centre and Heptonstall village both have formal conservation area designations that can affect conservatory and orangery design choices. For most conservatories on the rear elevations of residential properties within these conservation areas, permitted development rights still apply and planning permission is not required — but the external colour, profile choice, and roof style should be considered carefully relative to the character of the building and the designation. Listed buildings within HX7 require Listed Building Consent for any external changes including conservatory additions. We check the specific designation and planning position at every HX7 survey as a standard part of the free visit.
A conservatory has a predominantly glazed roof — typically 75% or more of the roof area is glass or a tiled glazing system. An orangery has solid masonry walls and pillars at eaves level with a central lantern or glazed roof section above — more architectural mass, better thermal performance, better acoustic performance, and a room that reads architecturally as a permanent addition rather than a glazed box. In Halifax, where the period housing stock of HX1, HX3, and HX6 has genuine architectural quality and character, an orangery is often the specification choice that best responds to the scale and permanence of the host building. It is more expensive than a conservatory of equivalent footprint, but for the right Halifax property, it adds proportionally more to the character and value of the home. We advise on which is right for your specific property at the free design survey.
In our view, particularly in Halifax, yes — with more conviction than we’d give the same answer in a more sheltered lowland location. Halifax’s Pennine position delivers a winter that genuinely tests a conservatory’s thermal envelope: temperatures regularly sit below freezing on the exposed hillside postcodes of HX2 and HX3, and sustained periods of wet, cold weather from October through March make a glass or polycarbonate-roofed conservatory simply too cold to use for large portions of the year. A tiled warm roof installation resolves this at the structural level — it insulates the roof space to the same standard as a conventional house roof rather than relying on heating to compensate for heat loss. The acoustic transformation from Pennine rain drumming on polycarbonate to the silence of a properly insulated ceiling is also remarkable and consistently cited by Halifax homeowners as the change they didn’t anticipate but valued most.
